I recently noticed that my body aches and is inflamed more. I always found it interesting how people said this would happen. There was a time when I was the guy who said, ”it’ll be different for me.” consequently I am no different than the rest of the human species. So I began learning more about anti-inflammatory foods.

Today, we’ll discuss nutrition and its effects on inflammation.
Inflammation is the first domino to fall for any and all healing processes. When inflammation stagnates or you notice areas of your body are swollen that it has cecome an issue. Have you noticed issues with your bowels or been diagnosed with a bowel disease? Inflammation may have reached a pathologic state. Rather than running off to purchase anti-inflammatory medication, be sure you are eating the following foods throughout your day, everyday. While you don’t have to eat all of this list everyday, be sure you are mixing it up, giving your innate intelligence a variety of building materials to produce a better you.
Anti-inflammatory Foods
- Dark Leafy Greens: Kale, spinach, Bok Choy, Swiss Chard (honorable mention: Celery)
- Berries: Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, tart cherries
- Salmon: Wild caught
- Nuts: Walnuts and Almonds
- Oils: Olive and coconut
- Beets
- Spices: Ginger and Tumeric
- Bone broth: made from grass fed beef or chicken
- Probiotics: Sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, yogurt, kefir
- Cruciferous Vegetables: Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts
- Seeds: Chia, flax, hemp
- Honorable Mentions: Oranges, tomatoes, ginger, rosemary, cinnamon, oregano, marjoram, sage, thyme, green tea, garlic, onions, peppers, and pineapple
Foods that cause inflammation
- Gluten: wheat products, bread, muffins, pastries
- Casien: Cow products such as milk, yogurt, and ice cream
- Oils: Sunflower, Soy, corn, safflower
- Processed meats: due to nitrates and nitrites as preservatives
- Fried food
- Fast Food
- Dairy
- Soda and syrups
