At Nardi Family Chiropractic, we provide three types of care, Symptomatic, Spine Correction, and Maintenance / Wellness care. Most patients begin with symptomatic care, flow into spine correction care and then maintenance / wellness care. These three types are care are the phases of the Chiropractic care cycle. Each phase flows into the next (often times overlapping rather than transitioning) providing you with a greater value of health. You may start and stop at any time, picking up where you left off if you do.
The Symptomatic Phase of care is for those who begin Chirorpactic while experiencing a health challenge. Common situations are back or neck pain, disc injuries, joint pains, asthma, ulcers, or other organic issues. During the symptomatic phase you are receiving your initial adjustments and your body is healing the areas that are causing your symptoms. The end goal is to get you out of the woods and feeling better. Typical duration’s range from one visit to 24 visits during a two month period. Some issues may take longer depending on the nature of the complaint and how well your body heals itself.
The Spine Correction Phase is the period following the symptomatic phase. During this phase, your adjustments are beginning to reshape your spine alignment (Much like braces reshape your teeth alignment). Each adjustment adds to the previous one. Over time, your body holds its adjustments longer as the spine reshapes. Typical duration ranges from 50 -100 visits over six to twelve months.
Often times, Chiropractors (we do this also) talk about Corrective care. Corrective care is simply combining the first two phases (symptomatic and spine correction) into one comprehensive action plan. With this commitment to continuation you will experience a seamless transition between care phases. This commonly reduces the spine correction duration to six months in our experience.
Maintenance/Wellness Care (MWC)
Maintenance Care and Wellness Care are often used to describe the same type of care. After correcting your spine and bringing your nerve system fully on-line, you want to ensure it stays there by receiving regular Chiropractic check-ups for subluxations that interfere with spine alignment and nerve system transmission. The recommendation for MWC is weekly checks. MWC will last as long as you want your spine and nerve system working at 100%, it is your choice and we will take you as far as you want to go.
