What does a rental car have to do with Chiropractic?
Have you ever had that feeling that something was imminent? Two weeks ago I had the sense that my car was about to break down. At the time “I was really busy” and put off looking into it. Two days later, my car’s alternator died and I had it towed. All of my mechanic’s loaners were being used by other customers, so I picked up a rental car.
When I was returning the rental car, I heard that little voice inside my head say “Don’t return the rental car yet, your car won’t be ready on time.” I replied to myself, “that’s ok, we have people willing to help us out in picking up my car tomorrow if it comes to that.” I promptly returned the rental car. About a half an hour later, I received a phone call from our mechanic that my car wasn’t going to be ready as planned and they would finish it the next day. (DOH!!!)
I smiled and told my innate “thank you” as I hung up the phone. I knew full well that I was warned, but didn’t heed the warning. Granted it all worked out thanks to some friends who were willing to help, but imagine how much smoother the process had I obeyed. Listening is always more beneficial than ignoring.
We all need to listen to our innate more and more and follow up on it’s advice and directions. Every time I haven’t it’s only afterward, that I see how much easier life would have been had I listened. In this case, it would have made life easier for a number of people, not just myself. In fact, in 99.99% of the cases, it’s about making life better for someone else rather than ourself. The question is, are we willing to sacrifice ourself to listening and obeying a greater calling, or are we solely focused on ourselves?
We all have experiences like this one. Share yours with us below. We love hearing from you.
