Like most people beginning a new endeavor, when I began this Vision 2030 series, I hoped for a linear upward projection. I knew in reality that wouldn’t happen and life would throw me some curve balls. Like any good pitcher, life keeps us on our toes and guessing for what is coming next. Like any good batter, we have a plan and react to what is actually thrown in the moment.
As I have painted this picture over the past several years, I realize that I am in the middle innings and the game can lull or drop as we get complacent with our lead. The key here is to keep our energy up. I have a patient right now going through a bout of depression. They share, we listen and encourage. Their energy is the key, they know it, I know it, their spouse knows it and that is what we are working on. This person is working through their middle innings, looking for some big hits from the bottom of the order and letting the lineup turn over for the big bats. All it takes is one good timely hit followed by a blast and you’re back in the game.
Life, like a baseball game has its momentum shifts. A good pitch here, a random bloop hit there and things can change. That’s all it takes to get back on track. Have patience and keep moving forward towards that moment and it’ll happen.
